Gabriel Said was born in Buenos Aires in 1970 and began his career when he was 16 years old.

He played with artists, namely Charly García, Dino Saluzzi, Osvaldo Piro, José Luis Merlín and Sui Generis.

Since 1992 he is the percussion soloist of the National Orquestra of Argentinian Music "Juan de Dios Filiberto".

In 2000 he was invited to "Fabrica" (Treviso, Italia) as an artist-in-residence. From then on, he has been developing new instruments and playing techniques, by combining modern and traditional techniques and modifying Latin percussion instruments, thus creating non conventional sets.

Apart from his concerts as a solo player, he takes part of the "Ego Armand" trio with the composer and pianist Oscar Strasnoy and the guitar player Pablo Márquez; and he plays in duo with the percussionist Fernando Vallés.


He has performed in Argentina, Latin America, Europe and Japan.

Sponsored by Mozarteum Argentino he performs regular educational activities in the North of the country, namely courses, workshops and concerts in the City of Jujuy, in Maimara (Quebrada de Humahuaca) and in the Wichi Community of Santa Victoria Este (Chaco Salteño).

He did his formal studies in music in E.M.P.A. (Popular Music School of Avellaneda).

He traveled many times to Brazil and Cuba to specialize in the music of those countries.
